What started from humble beginnings in the summer of 1987 has grown into an industry-leading mechanical company with five departments and over 200 employees serving both commercial and residential customers as far north as Bradenton, FL and as far south as Key West. United Mechanical, Inc. (UMI) based in Fort Myers, Florida is celebrating their 30th anniversary.

"We are blessed to live in such a great community with loyal and supportive clients, said Mike Clark, President. "We have enjoyed building lifelong relationships with our clients as well as giving back to the community that has given so much."

Part of UMI's company culture has been supporting local charities to help enrich the lives of Southwest Florida residents. Employees of UMI have shared their time, talents, and treasure with multiple non-profits including St Matthew's HouseStockings for Kids, Community Cooperative, Riverdale High School, United Way, and Gulf Coast Humane Society. Their involvement with these charities has been very rewarding, especially teaching preschool students about HVAC and plumbing at Child Care of Southwest Florida’s early learning centers.

On June 18, 1987 the company became a Florida Corporation, founded by Harvey Clark, and operated from a small office over a car repair shop on Collins Ave in Ft Myers. In 1999, Michael Clark became president and continued to grow the company until it outgrew its office space on Metro Plantation Rd. In 2012, United Mechanical would move into its current location at 8170 Mainline Pkwy in south Fort Myers. UMI has been involved in such notable projects as Lee Health, Golisano Children’s Hospital, Florida Gulf Coast University, Lee County Public Schools, Gartner, Ritz Carlton, Lee County Government, Suntrust Bank, FineMark Bank, and hundreds of other projects in Southwest Florida.

"I would personally like to thank all of our wonderful clients for allowing us the opportunity to be of service the last 30 years," said Clark. "We look forward to being your expert of choice for years to come for all of your AC and plumbing needs!"
